Operation

An operation applies an operator with some operator settings to a data node. 

Operations in a data node are aligned in a sequence where each operation manipulates the result of the previous operation. The sequence of operations is shown in the List of Operations in the Homepage of a data node.

An operation can

• create a table (e.g., operators Create Table or Import text or CSV file),
• modify the table produced by the previous operation or the result table of the Parent Node, if it is the first operation, or
• produce a graph (e.g., Chart: Histogram or Chart: Gantt 2D).

The first operation in a data node either

• creates a table, or
• modifies the result table from the parent node, if such a node exists.
